A mini double shaft shredder (also known as a dual-shaft or twin-shaft shredder) is a downsized version of industrial-grade shredding machinery. Unlike traditional single-shaft shredders that rely on a high-speed spinning rotor and a screen, a double-shaft shredder utilizes two parallel shafts spinning at low speeds with high torque to shear, tear, and cut materials.
The Core Components of a Dual-Shaft System
To understand how it operates, it helps to look at the anatomy of the machine. A high-quality mini shredder consists of four main parts:
The Electric Motor & Gearbox: The powerhouse of the machine. It converts high-speed electrical energy into low-speed, high-torque mechanical power.
The Hexagonal Shafts: Two parallel shafts, usually machined into a hexagonal shape to prevent the cutting blades from slipping under heavy loads.
The Cutting Blades (Hooks): Specially designed interlocking disks made of hardened steel (like D2 or Cr12MoV) that do the actual cutting.
The Scrapers: Fixed metal fingers located beneath the blades that prevent shredded material from wrapping around the shafts and clogging the system.
